The 1st European Games of non-Olympic sports 2007 took place in Kiev, Ukraine, on July 20-23.
Altogether 600 athletes from 46 countries competed in 15 different sports.
The event, which is the equivalent to the World Games at the European scale, featured also an acrobatic gymnastics event.
The women's group competition saw the victory of Anastasia Chistyakova-Ekaterina Stroynova-Ekaterina Loginova (RUS). Maria Kovtun-Anton Glazkov (RUS) won the men's pair competition....
Russia as the most successful nation also won a silver medal in the women's pair event (Yulia Filatova) and in the men's group event (Denis Cherevatov; Sergei Maximov; Teimuraz Gurgenidze; Ruslan Uriasev).
The next European Games will take place in 2011 in the city of Siauliai, Lithuania. The program of the competition will be more comprehensive as more that 20 sports are expected to be featured.
