Anna POBOKOVA comes back again... |
Dual Dutch national champion Anna POBOKOVA will return next season to the international competition circuit.
The 19 year old gymnast is living now in Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands.
In 1999 she immigrated together with her mother and started a new career in 2002...
Due to a severe back injury and a break from April 2005 to April 2006 and an almost fatal traffic accident in January 2007, she could not take part for a long time in national and international competition.
Last year in May 2006, she became national vice champion of the Netherlands and she had her international comeback at No Limits Open 2006, in Antwerp (Belgium).....
The 19 year old gymnast is living now in Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands.

In 1999, Anna POBOKOVA moved with her mother from Russia to the Netherlands. She is now living in Bergen op Zoom (in the South-West of the Netherlands).
Her international career started in November 2002 at the 18th European Championships in Granada (ESP), she was fifteen years old and had held Dutch nationality for just a few weeks.
Sporting career
On October 19th, 2007, she will celebrate her twentieth birthday.
Anna Pobokova said to go further on with her sport career in rhythmic gymnastics:
“I love this sport very much, which I have been doing since my fourth year....!

I intend to continue for years, perhaps to 2012. It is unfortunately no longer possible to do some exercises with my back like in former years. In the beginning of my sports career I was known for my very flexible back. Now I have adapted my exercises to my possibilities”, so Anna Pobokova.

Social career
Anna Pobokova is not alone working on her career in sports and her return in international competition. In September she will begin taking classes at the new "Johan Cruyff College" Roosendaal.
Herman Kruis, director of the "JCC Roosendaal", is very pleased at the thought of her arrival this fall: “The Johan Cruyff College will fully support her return to the elite international sporting level.
“The College will facilitate extra training schedules, internships abroad and a fully adapted learning schedule for all of their student-athletes”, says her manager.
Cruyff Academics International and the ROC West-Brabant (in the South-West of the Netherlands), have started the new Johan Cruyff College Roosendaal. Much like the other ROCs who host a JCC, the ROC West Brabant is a very sports minded organization. Since 2005, this ROC has been the “Official Partner for Olympic Network North-Brabant”.
Board member Rob Franken: “The JCC Roosendaal and the philosophy behind the programme (sport seducation for athletes) fits in well within our mission to support young talents and give them the opportunity to develop all their athletic and intellectual competences and personality".

Anna Pobokova says: “The contribution of the Johan Cruyff College is inseparably linked with my social career and reaching my goals in sports. I will work hard to reach the national title next year. My other aim is to appear in the Grand Prix series in 2008”.
