Exquisite acrobatics at the 5th International ACRO-CUP 2007 - GYMfamily EVENT -

For three days, the participants of the 5th ACRO-Cup 2007 presented exquisite acrobatics in Albershausen.

The winners of the Acrocup 2007 in the senior category were the European champions Anastasia Gorbatjuk/Alexander Barleben from Omsk (RUS).

In the junior category the world champions Liam Durbridge/Jonathan Stranks secured the Cup for themselves as had been expected. In the youth categories the winners were also British.

Janina Hiller/Sophia Müller from Albershaus came third, which was a great success for them...

Behind the Russian European champions of the Mixed Pairs Alexander Barleben/Anastasia Gorbatjuk and the ladies' trio from England,  Janina Hiller/Sophia Müller from Albershausen came third in the overall ranking.
In the individual disciplines they won all three contests in spite of the stress of organizing the event.

Fortunately, a mixed pair from Albershausen, Arvid Kuritz/Corina Abele, also came third in the Mixed Pairs.

From a sporting perspective, the British athletes, from four participating clubs including two with world champions, were dominant; they won the overall cup both in the junior (- award ceremony, photo, right) and in the youth category.

A total of 82 groups from 8 countries participated in this 5th edition of the international tournament at Albershausen. 

Inspite of the hot summer weather the gymnasium at Albershausen (Baden-Würtemberg) was full to bursting point, with over 500 spectators, on all days of the competition: "This time, we had more spectators just on the first day than we had on all three days together at the last Acro-Cup," - the head organizer Günther Mäußnest remarked with pleasure; with his tried and tested team he had a tough job to do, however the TGSV which hosted the event was heaped with praise from all sides. In spite of the hot weather all parties involved presented fantastic performances and the drinks sponsor was kept busy all the time...
