European Junior Champion wins LIUKIN INVITATIONAL

Nikolai Kuksenkov (UKR)

The European junior champion from Volos (2006 May), Nikolai KUKSENKOV from Ukraine won the LIUKIN INVITATIONAL 2006, which was held in Plano (Texas), USA last weekend at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy" (WOGA).

The 17-years old scored 90.800 points and topped the four years older Alexander ARTEMEV (89.700), member of the 2006 US world championship team in Aarhus
On third came the Russian Alexander KALABIN (89.400), followed by Riku MUNAKATA from Japan.

The Japaneses won also the team competition in front of Ukraine...

This competition is named in honor of Valery LIUKIN, as a former Soviet gymnast, world, European and Olympic champion .
Liukin is co-owner of 'WOGA', where he also coaches his daughter, six-time world medalist Nastia LIUKIN. 11th 'LIUKIN INVITATIONAL'
