Romanian Gymnastics Federation decorated on century anniversary

Romanian President Traian Basescu awarded the Romanian Gymnastics Federation (FRG), the Sports Merit Order Class I, on Saturday, on the special occasion of FRG 100th anniversary.
Basescu also awarded ex-coaches Maria Cosma and Adrian Goreac the Faithful Service National Order in Commander rank. ....
More than 300 international Medals...
On the same occasion, the president pointed out the fact that from 1958 when Romania won the first medal in gymnastics till today, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation brought Romania more than 300 medals, 260 won by female gymnasts and 70 by male ones, medals that rewarded the value, the work but also the tradition the Romanian gymnastics School has created, and at the same time, brought a huge joy to all Romanians.
The Romanian Gymnastics Federation is by far the most successful Romanian sports federation, Basescu said and voiced hope the Romanian flag and anthem will keep the right to be looked at and listened to, respectively, thanks to the Romanian sports people successes, in the future world championships and the Beijing Olympic Games.
Basescu thanked all the sports people and their coaches and the Romanian Gymnastics Federation for everything they have done for Romania.
Basescu welcomed the International Gymnastics Federation president Bruno Grandi, at the Cotroceni Palace, on Saturday too. Attending the event were also state advisers on sports issues Marian Bitang and Octavian Belu, along with famous Romanian gymnasts such as Dan Grecu, Lavinia Milosevici, Simona Amanar, Maria Olaru, Maria Urzica and Marin Dragulescu.
At the same day, Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu sent a message to the Romanian Gymnastics Federation at its centennial, congratulating it for the results obtained and for its efforts to go forward:
'We are glad of the success of all generations that worked with passion and ambition, becoming models for young people and promoting Romania's values,' said the PM in his message, assuring the gymnasts with this occasion that the Government will further back the Federation in its attempts to fulfill the projects in the future.
