After a long time of illness the former President of Men's Technical Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation F.I.G., Mr. Alexandr LYLO passed away on Monday, July 28 in his hometown Prague.
The former gymnast worked as a long time Czech coach and in the Seventies and Eighties as the national coach of the former Czechoslovakian Socialist Republik.
After same irregularities during the qualification rounds in preparation of the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, the former TC-President Ivan IVANCOVIC withdrawn (1976, April 28) and Alexandr LYLO set up to the incumbently President...
... and at the 54th FIG Congress 1976 in Montreal he was elected by a impressively majority of votes (30) in front of his challenger GONZALES (7) from Spain.
Alexandr LYLO worked up to 1984 and was substitute in Los Angeles by the German Karl-Heinz Zschocke - the contemporarily F.I.G.'s Vice President of Honor.
At last Alexandr LYLO was very glad, when the young Czech from Prague, Martin Konecny, won a European medal again for Czech gymnastics after a long break of 25 years!
