Monaco withdrawn - Wold cup in Sao Paulo again

The International Gymnastics Federation F.I.G. pronounced, that the 13th World Cup Final of Artistic Gymnastics - planned for December 15 & 16, 2006 - will no longer take place in Monaco. The new place will be Sao Paulo (BRA) again....
The Monegasque organizers have officially informed the FIG that they have been unable to raise the necessary funds that would allow them to stage this major event of the F.I.G. calendar.
With the support of its National Olympic Committee, the Brazilian Gymnastics Federation has immediately made a bid, which has received the favorable and unanimous vote of the members of the FIG Executive Committee, meeting in a regular session in the City of Neuchâtel (SUI).

World Cup No. 13 - to the second time in Sao Pauo...
This 13th World Cup of Artistic Gymnastics will now be organized in Sao Paulo at the dates initially selected.
The World Cup Final of Artistic Gymnastics is intended for the 8 best gymnasts per apparatus on the FIG World Ranking List.
Until the Sao Paulo Final, the tournaments in Maribor (SLO), Glasgow (GBR), and the world championships in Aarhus (DEN) will be the last competitions of the current cycle, during which the gymnasts can accumulate the indispensable FIG points to qualify themselves among the 8 finalists.

To the first time Brazil hosted a world cup two years ago, in Rio de Janeiro 2004,
the '1st Siegfried Fischer Trophy', named in memoriam of the FIG- Vice President, Siegfried Fischer, who passed away in March 2003.
