14th WORLD GYMNAESTRADA 2011 in Switzerland
The Executiv Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation F.I.G. decided on it's meeting in Kuala Lumpur (MAL), that the 14th World Gymnaestrada 2001 will take place in Switzerland, City of Lausanne.
The Olympic Capital obtained 24 votes, Amsterdam (NED) 5 and Brussels (BEL) 3.
So it will be the third time that the traditional European gymnastics nation Switzerland will be the host for this event after 1969 (Basel) and 1982 (Zurich)....

>>All the modifications concerning the Technical Regulations, submitted by the Executive Committee have been accepted by a large majority of the Council members. One of the main issues concerned by this decision is the new qualification system for the Olympic Games.
>>The 2005 accounts and the 2007 budget have been unanimously accepted.
>> The World Gymnaestrada 2011 will take place in Switzerland, City of Lausanne. The Olympic Capital obtained 24 votes, Amsterdam (NED) 5 and Brussels (BEL) 3.
>>The Council allowed an exceptional update of the Artistic Code of Points, after the experiences made at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne (AUS) and the European Championships in Volos (GRE), in order not to find the same difficulties during the next World Championships in Aarhus (DEN) in October.
>>The FIG Council 2007 will take place in the USA, City of Orlando, Florida.

-- IOC President, Comte Jacques Rogge confirmed his decision to attend the official ceremony^, celebrating the 125th anniversary of the FIG, on October 29, 2006, in Geneva (SUI).
-- The present financial situation of the FIG is stable and satisfying. 2005 showed an substantial increase of the television rights. This positive situation allowed the FIG to support the Federation of Morocco, requesting for help to get a competition floor. Despite these results, the delegates made the decision to reactivate the Marketing Commission in order to explore new financial resources.
-- The draw of the Artistic Gymnastics in October 2006 in Aarhus (DEN) will take place in Neuchâtel (SUI), on July 24.
-- The following World Cup events have been approved:
Rhythmic Gymnastics: : Portimao (POR) Cat A, September 08 - 10, 2006 (Individuals + Groups)
>> Trampoline/Tumbling: Québec (CAN) Cat B, March 23 - 25, 2007, and Sofia (BUL) Cat. B, June 21 - 23, 2007.
