Malaysian press reported, that the national top rhythmic gymnast See Hui Yee, one of the most successful athletes at the Manila SEA Games in December 2005, has quit the national team after six years of service.
Despite her two-gold medal feat in Manila, Hui Yee was left out of the Commonwealth Games after an unscheduled selection trial.
The disappointment proved too much for Hui Yee who said she wanted to pursue her studies now and was no longer interested in competing in the sport.
In her absence, the three gymnasts remaining in the AsiaComm programme are Foong Seow Ting, Durratun Nashihin Rosli and Chrystal Lim.
The trio will leave for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games a day after the opening ceremony on March 15. ...

The 18-year-old Hui Yee's decision will certainly affect the team's preparations for this years Asian Games in Doha from Dec 1-15.
Hui Yee said she handed her letter of retirement to the Malaysian Gymnastics Federation (MGF) two days ago.
She handed in the letter after returning from the
Moscow Grand Prix on Monday, where she finished as the fourth-ranked Malaysian performer behind Chrystal, Durratun and Seow Ting.
“I was disappointed at not making the team for the Commonwealth Games. I was also disappointed that I did not perform well during the one-day selection trial on Feb 14,” said Hui Yee.
Definitely Retirement!
Hui Yee's name had been on the Olympic Council of Malaysia's (OCM) initial list but the MGF decided to hold a one-day selection trial to name the top three athletes.
Asked why she did not want to stay on until the Asiad, Hui Yee said:
“No, I do not want to compete anymore. This is my decision. I have plans to further my studies.”
