China: Host of World Aerobic Gymnastics Championships this year

The 9th FIG World Aerobic Gymnastics Championships will be held in Nanjing (East China) host by the Chinese Gymnastics Association (CGA).
The worlds will run from June 1-3 in 2006 and set up five events, including individual men, individual women, mixed pairs, trios and groups.

The Chairman of the Chinese Gymnastics Association (CGA) Gao Jian, chairman of the CGA, said: 'It is the first time that China host the world level aerobic event. We will try to make it an impressive gala to all the participants.' The world is expected to attract more than 1,000 athletes and coaches from 40 countries and regions.
Chinese aerobic gymnasts snatched their first international gold in group at the World Games in Germany, 2005, July.
'Our goal is to grab a gold or a medal on home soil,' Gao said.
The City of NANJING (5 million inhabitants)
