Bessonova Sweeps in San Francisco

Anna Bessonova and Ukrainian Olympic prospect Galyna Shyrkina dominated the 13th annual San Francisco RSG Invitational, held Feb.11, 2006.

The gymnasts from the national and club teams from Ukraine, Germany, New Zealand, Mexico, Canada and USA met at San Francisco at this warm and sunny weekend to take part in this already became a traditional winter rhythmic gymnastics event in the USA....

With seldom seen charm and elegance Anna Bessonova won four gold medals in the seniors cathegory including all-around (66.075) and silver with the ball.
Her younger teammate Galyna Shyrkina won that event (15.650) and left no doubt in her all-around silver dominance (61.000) over USA Brennan Stacker (3d place, 54.075).
Brennan Stacker left pleasant impression by her solid performed routines and dynamic expressive style.
Julie Zetlin (USA), runner-up in junior division at last year USA National Championship, concluded her one of the first senior appearances with strong 4th place (51.750).
With the score 50.350 Marlee Shape of USA won the junior division.
