Kapranova triumphes twice!
The first two apparatus finals of the Grand Prix Final/ Berlin Masters in Rhythmic Gymnastics were won by the Russian Olga Kapranova In the rope final she pöaced ahead of Olympic silver medalist Irina Tchatchina (RUS) and Natalia Godunko (UKR).
In the ball final she won over Vera Sesina (RUS), who surprisingly won yesterday’s all-around, and Inna Zhukova (BLR).
For 2,500 spectators in the sold out Max-Schmeling-Halle a sportive afternoon with world class athletes started, completed by an attractive group competition on highest level. Bulgaria won the apparatus final of the Mercedes Benz Cup with five ribbons.
Apparatus final, Rope
Anna Bessonova opens the finals and starts with a triple illusion and a secure catch. She performs with esprit an fluidly, makes one visible mistake with the rope in a turn and has some unclean apparatus handling. 16.400
Irina Tchatchina shows a bautiful and stable routine, dressed in orange and to oriental sounds. Well performed. 16,800
Olga Kapranova performs her rope routine charmingly, lightly and perfectly clean. A beautiful starting position in stand split. Gymnastics at its best: 17,175
Elisabeth Paiseva shows expression and beauiful fish pirouettes, unfortunately, she suffers a loss at the very end of her routine. 15,275
Right at the beginning Lisa Ingildeeva performs her multliple pivots, however, she makes several mistakes, no drop, though! Appears a little insecure. 13.725
The audience’ favourite and “Miss Tournament 2005” Natalia Godunko performs to the rhythmic clapping of her fans. She shows clean, high leaps and is delighted by the rain of cuddle toys. A vivid and original rouine:16.725
Inna Zhukova’s speedy and vividly routine is performed with a pleasing smile. Unfortunately, she misses the rope when she tries to catch it with her neck in a cartwheel. Her leaps and jumps are as good as the ones of the Urkainians 16.375
Valeria Kuyrilskaia impresses with an original turn , makes no major mistakes, a gymnast for the future 15.575
Aliya Yussupova demonstartes all her flexibility already in her start position with a bend oversplit. Sadly, she misses a catch of the rope with her foot.15.500

Inna Zhukova seems to live in symbiosis with her favourite apparatus: She demonstartes perfect harmony in pink. Her walkover with the ball in her pointed foot is beautiful, several further original ideas. An inspired, a wonderful routine: 16.775
Anna Bessonova elates the audience with a beautifully interpreted ball routine, a small hopp in her tour lent: 16,425
Klaudia Wittmann presents herself with expressively. Unfortunately she makes two mistakes when she tries to catch the ball with her legs, but no drop: 13,725
Vera Sesina shows a light routine with ball and appears to be much more confident than yesterday, probably because of her all-around victory. Soft, fluids movements, four illusions backwards at the end: 17,050
Irina Risenson performs dynamically, vividly and with a permanent smile on her lips: Lovely to watch: 15,725
Natalia Godunko once again demonstartes excellent aparatus work and collects uncountable cuddle toys. Well performed: 16,250
Olga Kapranova impresses with triple split turns in all directions and position and executes them excellently. A pure pleasure: 17,500
