Olympics, Worlds and European medallist...
|
Who is, who was Vanda Hadarean? 'Little Vanda' was the 1st at the 1991 Athens European Junior Championships in the all-around and on bars. One year later she got the all-around bronze medal at the 1992 Nantes European Seniors Championships behind subsequent Barcelona Olympic Games all-around gold medal winner Tatjana Goutsou of USSR and countrywoman and future gymnastics superstar Gina Gogean...
After retiring from gymnastics in early 1994 Hadarean completed coach license studies and moved to Canada in 1995 where she started to coach at Mountain Star Gymnastics in Hamilton. For more than one year she continued to coach at “Champions Club“ in Peterborough (Ontario), next to her famous former teammate Cristina Bontas before moving to Houston to coach at Moceanu Gymnastics and onwards to South Carolina (Golden Strip Gymnastics) from where she returned to Romania in 1998.
Coaching interimly Aerobics and Fitness and posing for the Romanian Playboy, she saves money to go back to the country she fell in love with: Canada.
Returning in 2000, leaving behind family and friends (among whom Lavinia Milosovici, to whom she is connected in a particularly close friendship since the time being together in the juniors squad).
She continued coaching at the Tumblers Club in Ottawa one of Canada’s best known gymnastics clubs and always dreamt of establishing her own school of gymnastics.
Canada's reigning Fitness Queen...
At present, Vanda Hadarean is Canada’s reigning national female fitness champion and recently finished 3rd in an important regional competition in North America just prior to the World Championships in Las Vegas where she is going represent her new country for the first time in a major international competition.
“I feel privileged to live in Canada and very happy to be born and raised in Romania”, Vanda Hadarean said.
