Ronny Ziesmer: First practice only one year after his accident

Ronny Ziesmer had one year after his accident, defiant heavy rain, a first sports practice. He meet with multiple paralympic winner Heinrich Koeberle and Errol Marklein -the last Berlin Marathon winner- to make his first tries with his new handbike on the cycleracing track at the Olympic Center in Cottbus/Germany.

Marklein and Koeberle are the absolute top specialists in technics and practice for paralised athletes. They fitted Ronny's new bike ergonomicly to his disability and found his practice kilometers as excellent first tries...

Errol Marklein not only talked, no he promised Ronny a new practice aparatus at the Max Schmeling-Halle in Berlin December 2004 already. This spring he handed over the bike to Ronny, who made his first tries on the sprinttrack at the Closing Ceremony of the German International Gymnastics Festival. Yet very careful though!
A good thing for physical practice, where Ronny's first thoughts. Of course it's still one of the most important things about the bike, but today there where already words like ''Sportsdevice'' and ''Training aparatus'' falling.
Since 1988 fourtime Paralympic winner Heinrich Koeberle(58) Tetraplegist like Ronny, a similar disability- is in the wheelchair for 36 years now: ''I am positive surprised how good he gets along with a Handbike after only one year. If I think about my first tries... but I guess Ronny is thru and thru a real sportsman.I think he would be able to participate in a marathon soon. It's up to him how soon.''

over 20 years ago his debut at the Paralympic Games in Stoke Mandeville (1984) had and afterwards four times the marathon won at the Paralympic Games (Seoul '88 to Sydney 2000) is not only one of the most experienced athletes but in trainigmethods an excellent coach - and for Ex-Competetive Sportsman Ronny Ziesmer great luck!
