Also being honored in Oklahoma City are 2004 Olympic all-around champions Paul Hamm and Carly Patterson, who were voted '2004 Gymnasts of the Year' by thousands of journalists and fans around the world. Patterson will be in attendance to accept her award.
'The International Gymnastics Hall of Fame exists to recognize these incredible legends for their immeasurable impact on gymnastics,' said Bart Conner, a 1984 Olympic gold medalist and Hall of Fame board member. 'Their individual contributions go beyond their considerable competitive achievements. Their tremendous innovations, character, and personality continue to make them idols for every generation of young gymnasts everywhere. It is not the medals they win but the great athletes themselves which are the treasures of gymnastics.'
