FIG asks: 'WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!'
From now on, FIG is going to ask the specialists and insiders of modern artistic gymnastics on a regular basis what they think of certain current gymnastics issues : a decision, an event, a result, a change.
No matter what the issue - the general opinion interests the FIG....
February 2005: The Perfect 10... or not?
The FIG is considering allowing open-ended scoring, which would eliminate the Perfect 10 as the ultimate score.
It's true that an opinion doesn't carry the weight of a vote, but it offers new, often original, insight that can be both novel and useful...

What do you think?
It's simple. Towards the beginning of the month, F.I.G. asks the public a question, '... providing you with four possible answers or ideas that you either agree with or don't. We'll publish your answers in the 'Best of' column at the end of the month.'

The perfect score for Nadia Comaneci (Beam, Bars) and Nellie Kim (Floor).
Both the Men's and Women's Artistic Gymnastics Codes of Points are currently being re-examined by the two respective Technical Committees.

F.I.G. is considering opening up difficulty, favouring execution and abolishing the mythical 'perfect 10'.
