Australian Youth Olympic Festival 2005
The Chinese had it all, the array of glittery outfits, well choreographed routines, strength and plenty of flexibility. They no doubt deserved gold, silver and bronze in the final of the rhythmic gymnastics.
Australian Youth Olympics Champion went to QIAN, Yujia with a score of 56.474, well ahead of her two team mates. At times it looked like Yujia might snap, her movements so clean and sharp. Her rope routine was awesome, her red leotard, similar to spiderman’s, reflected her ability to weave her way through and around the rope....
WU, Mengran claimed silver with a total score of 51.515, closely followed by WU, Jan on 50.524. Overall the Chinese were more dynamic as they worked with the music pivoting, rotating and balancing with the rope, hoop, club and ribbons.
