re-elected TC-President: Egle Abruzzini (ITA)
|
The newly elected Technical Committee of Rhythmic Gymnastics of the international gymnastics federation FIG led by the old and new head Egle Abruzzini (ITA) now takes care of the new judging regulations which will become effective in 2005.
Important changes will be the return to the score of 20 points per routine, the higher weighing of the score for the execution as well as higher deductions for the drop of the apparatus. The aim of these changes is to make the sports more attractive for the audience.
At the beginning of December an international judges meeting takes place in which the representatives of the member federations will be acquainted with the new judging regulations.
The higher weighing of the B-score alone will lead to an adjustment in favour of the score for the execution: Like previously there will be 10 points for the execution (B-score) but as there will be only 20 points overall and not 30 points anymore, the value of the score for the execution is tremendously higher. Major drops of the apparatus will be deducted with 0.50 points, the same deduction will occur if a routine is finished without apparatus. – Especially the fact that in the past – according to the rules – sometimes routines with drops of the apparatus were awarded with higher scores than faultless routines has received a lot of criticism from the audience and the media.
