World champion Julius Petri won 4 titles!
|
At the German Championships last Saturday in Neumarkt/St. Veit, the favourites Julia Pohling (SV Neuhof) and Julius Petri (TSV Taunusstein-Bleidenstadt) won the titles in all-around category.
Whereas Julia Pohling lay ahead clearly, Julius Petri won by a narrow margin, just 0.025 points ahead of Constantin Malchin (SV Rugenbergen). Friederike Schindler (TSV Marburg-Ockershausen), eight times junior world champion, seemed to be beaten by her overwrought nerves and failed in two of the four exercises. She became only sixth and abandoned the finals because of an injury. Janin Oer (VfB Fallersleben), world-champion in straight-on an spiral, won again these two disciplines and became vice-champion in all-around, third became Nadine Burkhardt (TSV Taunusstein-Bleidenstadt).

Golden times for Julia and Julius
Report from the German National Championships of Wheel Gymnastics 2004
- by Monika Vaethbrueckner -
Julius Petri did not have his best day, maybe because he couldn’t train the last two weeks, being ill. So it was a very exciting competition between Julius Petri and Constantin Malchin, who lay ahead till the last discipline. But with an good free-style exercise in spiral Petri pipped Malchin with the edge of 0.025 points.
The finalists thanked for the good organisation by Neumarkt/St.Veit with high performances. Julia Pohling shared the titles with Janin Oer, while Julius Petri succeeded in three disciplines and became most triumphant active of the German Championships. (LINK zur den Siegerlisten Finale)
