Preview: International Alsterpokal 2004

This weekend on 3/4 September 2004 the Verband für Turnen und Freizeit Hamburg, VTF, Germany, arranges an international tournament in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics in the Sports Hall Wandsbek with top-class athletes.
The well established 'International Alsterpokal' has developed to the gymnastic highlight of the northern part of Germany and welcomes teams from four continents: Africa, America, Australia/New Zealand and Europe....

Strong participants in 2004
Teams from 7 European nations as well as 3 teams from overseas are expected to compete:
>> Gymnasts from the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Sweden and USA will be present.

The competition will be held for the third time and enjoys great popularity. This year’s field of participants of about 110 athletes from 10 nations promises a suspenseful competition on a high level. It will be a team competition in the categories young talents, pupils and elite. Additionally, the 6 best elite gymnasts of the team competition will qualify for the four apparatus finals on vaulting table, uneven bars, balance beam and floor.

Hamburg’s gymnasts will start ...!
Hamburg’s best gymnasts will demonstrate all their skills. In the host’s array will be the present Hamburg Champion Katja Skrobova, who already competed at ECh and WCh and won bronze at this year’s Germany-Cup.
