Tchachina won Worldcup tournament in Varna

Irina Tchachina (RUS) won the Worldcup tournament

The best gymnast of the Worldcup tournament of Varna was Irina Tchachina in front of World and European Champion Alina Kabaeva (both RUS) and Alyia Yussupova (KAZ). Three-time world champion Simona Peycheva, is back. She became 5th of this all around competition, three weeks before the RG competitions of Olympic Games in Athens. She was slapped with a 10-month ban after testing positive for a banned diuretic.
On group competition, the Russian team, World Champion 2003 and the favourite for the Olympic Games, was the best team.
The Ukrainian gymnasts only were absent.
