8th World Championships Sports Aerobics in Sofia
The 8th FIG-Sports Aerobics World Championships will take place in the 'Winter Palace of Sport' in Bulgarias capital Sofia from 3rd to 5th June. 32 nations from all continents and about 300 participants will compete for the world titels. 49 'Individual Women', 38 'Individual Men', 32 'Mixed Pairs', 34 'Trios' and 18 'Groups' will take part. The favorites come from Spain, France, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Brazil, Japan, China and South Korea.
The favorite in 'Individual Women' is the triple World Champion (including 2002 in Klaipeda) Yuriko Ito from Japan. Another favorite is the first from FIG-World Ranking List Daniela Izabela Lacatus (Romania). The multiple World Champion Jonatan Canada from Spain takes part in 'Individual Men'. Europe Champion Gregory Alcan (France) will be a great challanger. World Champions in 'Mixed Pairs' Tatiana Soloviova and Vladislav Oskner (Russia) finished their aerobic career. Now the favorites are Europe Champs Daniela Izabela Lacatus and Remus Nicolai (Romania). France Trio with Isabelle Severino, Gregory Alcan and Xavier Julien will try to win a Gold medail. Titleholder sextett from Romania will start in 'Groups' before Russia, Bulgaria, France and Spain.
Janka Daubner (Halle) from Germany with international experiance will take part in 'Individual Women' and Laszlo Köteles (Halle) starts first time in 'Individual Men'.
In 'Trios' Katja Graf, Kirsten Schmidt and Astrid Schumann give her best.
A new Group from Ulm takes part with Carolin Grüger, Marie Zollna, Sandra Grosse, Stefanie Frank, Stefanie Grüger and Carima Eiferle.
