Main subject for the 30 athletes from Japan, USA, Canada, Norway, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Austria and Germany was – besides the training of new exercises in straight-line – the improvement of technics in spiral and in the flight phases during the vault.
For this, Uwe Marquardt – multiple German Champion and winner of WC-medals – was engaged to teach trampolining.
The international standard of performance has raised during the last 5 years, especially on the initiative of the International Wheel Association (IRV) and of German persons in charge. The supremacy of the german athletes will falter before long, with consisting upward tendency of the other nations. Already last year, a woman of Japan became world champion in vault. In the near future, men can expect big deeds of the young wheel-nations at competitions.
