The managements of the top hotels in Cottbus are very happy this year about the situation one week before: They are sell off already!!
More than 170 participants and about 2,000 accomodations.... that's a doubble new record in the long history of this European tournament.
So this world cup is a real economical factor now in the area of Lausitz, an area with a lot of gravely economical problems! This good situation is also a success of the organizing team, leading by the tournament director Sylvio Kroll, the former world class athlet and vice-world champion in the Eighties, a complex new marketing strategy and also preserve meda partnerships...

CGS and the trademark T I C
T I C - it means 'Turnen in Cottbus' (Gymnastics in Cottbus) is a new label of the 'Cottbus Cociety of Sports sponsorship' (CGS). It's managing director is also a former top gymnast, Mirko Wohlfahrt. He is working about the whole year, to built a pool of partners and sponsors, to stabilize the financial base of this big world cup and he organizes the logostics of all preparations.

- the reigning Germman All-around Champion Ronny Ziesmer comes from here

- and of course host of the 'Turnier der Meister' for the topical world stars, with a 30 years old tradition.

Today host Germany designated its women gymnastics team for the world cup events in Cottbus and Lyon after a national qualification round in Frankfurt/Main:

3. Yvonne Musik (Hoffnungsthal) 32,300

>> On Sunday, Febrary 29th the German men's team will be nominate for the coming events after a qualifying round in Kienbaum (near Berlin).

French team made a test last weekend,
but some of French gymnasts didn’t participate, because their rests of injuries.
Gaëlle Richard arrived first, despite a fault on bars (tkatchev) with a total of 35.175.
Isabelle Sévérino, who come back in course for Olympics ranked second with 34.900, then came Nelly Ramassany, Maud Colas, Nelly Soupe, Mélanie Nun?s and Caroline Ranc....

French Nomination:
Following this test the following gymnasts will participate at Cottbus tournament:
for Cottbus that French team will be : Gaëlle Richard, Nelly Ramassany and Nelly Soupe.

>> For French International one week later in Lyon, French team would be:
Emilie LePennec, Marine Debauve, Camille Schmutz, and out ofcompetition: Soraya Chaouch and Maud Colas.
Isabelle Severino would compete for International French/ England in March with others gymnast.

>>The French National Champs will be on April, 3 - 4. Titleholder in all-around is Marine Debauve was. This year many people believe, that Emilie Le Pennec have the best chances for the tittle, but also some others gymnast could be candidate for.
