Swiss Roman Gisi best European at Canberra Cup

As every year the Chinese and Japanese Juniors use the Canberra Cup in Australia for the step up into the world of international gymnastics. The Asians were impressive through extraordinary good technical preparation and routine form, in particular on pommel horse, Parallel Bars and High Bar. In the end the winner was H Mizutori 53.90 points from Japan, in front of Li Guang Yao 52.55 points from China and in third was Roman Gisi 52.30 points from Switzerland, who left behind a particularly strong impression. Der Schweizer Junior Roman Gisi aus dem NKL Liestal wurde als Mehrkampfdritter und Sprungsieger bester Europäer beim Internationalen Canberra Cup in Australien.

Behind these leaders were Du Wei (51.65 from China), Kohi Sakamoto (50.80 Japan) and after these was the Australian Sam Offord (50.35 points) and the German Champion Mathias Fahrig in 7th place.
Philipp Boy, the German Junior champion from Cottbus Sport Club, injured himself severely on a dismount from High bar and spent the next week in Hospital. His operation was a success and her returned to Germany before Christmas.
The Swiss gymnast Roman Gisi from NKL in Liestal was impressive in the finals and won gold on Vault, Bronze on the Rings and High bar. Mathias Fahrig was third on floor and Sam Offord the winner on Rings.
