World Cup: Second Final Day in Glasgow

Grand Prix Glasgow
A galaxy of stars arrived on Thursday, 23rd October, in Scotland, to compete at the highly popular Glasgow Grand Prix and World Cup event, which will be the first to see a number of new World Champions and medallists from the World Champs of Anaheim.
Glasgow is the first World Cup event to be held since August's World Championships in Anaheim.
The first winners of the first day was the Canadian Kyle Shewfeldt (floor) and Elena Zamolodchikova (RUS) (vault) at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall - the successful titleholders from last year.....
Anna Pavlova (RUS) won beam, Leszek Blanik won vault today...

Some of the Olympic, World Champions and World Cup winners Elena Zamolodchikova (RUS), Marius Urzica (ROM, photo)), Oxana Chussovitina (UZB), Jani Tanskanen (FIN), Mitja Petkovsek (SLO) are old friends to the knowledgeable Glasgow audience, but such is the status of the competition that it has drawn new World Champions and medallists recently celebrated in the World Championships held in Anaheim, USA in August.

Jordan Jovtchev (BUL)

The beautiful Zhang Nan (CHN), 2003 World All Around Bronze medallist will be a big challenge to Elena Zamolodchikova and Anna Pavlova (RUS) and the new stars from the Ukraine, Alina Kozich and Inna Teslenko.

Beth Tweddle (GBR)

Another clear indication of the strength of the competition is the amount of media and press interest which it has attracted. BBC TV will be presenting the competition live on Grandstand; Radio 5 Live has done a number of interviews with the gymnasts and will present a programme on 23rd October.
