Jovchev (BUL), Tambakos (GRE) Double winners on rings

Eight golden medals went to the athletes at the first final day: On every of the three men's apparatuses were two winners :
- Floor: Paul Hamm (USA & Jordan Jovtchev (BUL),
- Pommel: Teng (CHN) & Kashima (JPN) and
-Jovchev again and Tambakos (GRE).
Also in women's finals two medals on bars went to the US-gymnasts Chellsie Memmel and Hollie Vise.
The oldest gymnast of these Worlds, Oksana Chusovitina (UZB) got her first title on vault....

Gold went to the Greece Olympic silvermedallist Dimosthenis Tambakos, after winning bronze in 1999. A second gold wins the world champion from Ghent, Jordan Jovchev - his second title this year. There are also two bronze medals for the two Italian Andrea Coppolino and Matteo Morandi.

12 years after her first world championships appearance, Oksana Chusovitina wins the gold on vault! Chusovitina has been twice second (1991, 2002) and three times third (1992, 1993, 2002) on the vault, but this is her first world title on the event. North Korea's Kang Yun Mi and defending champion Yelena Zamolodchikova of Russia tie for second.
