Pan American Games 2003: Final Day

The Cuban men and the USA women won the team titles at the 2003 Pan American Games, held Saturday in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The USA women's team outscored the defending team champions, Canada, and Brazil.
The Cubans men's team successfully defended their team title from the last Pan Am Games, Winnipeg 1999. The Brazil team won silver and the American men, which defending silver medalists, slipped to bronze behind Brazil.
<< Erick Lopez (CUB), the four times all-around champion from 1991 on won also four finals and is the most successful athlete of these 2003 Pan American Games.
Chellsie Memmel (USA) won the All Around title and captured the gold medal with a total of 37.962.
