Hoop:
The first great highlight so far has been the performance of the gymnast who has presented herself at best in the current season: Anna Bessonova with her beautiful hoop routine to music motifs taken from 'Swan Lake' - awarded by the audience with continuing applause. Anna herself appeared relieved to start her competition in that excellent manner.
A very good performance by the German athlete, too. The young Lisa Ingildeeva (Schmiden) inspired the audience with a stable routine and friendly charisma. In December she will be 15 years old but already now performs convincingly and confidently in a field of world class. Bravo Lisa!
With Spanish temperament and feminine charisma Almudena Cid elates the spectators once again. The 22-year-old is always welcome by the audience; and evidently she is in top shape.
Simona Peycheva, the spirited Bulgarian, immediately had - as usual... - the audience on her side performing a routine with verve and great originality. However, once again she could not match up with Anna Bessonova.
Tamara Yerofeeva with a new routine, at least a new piece of music - she has modernised, changed from 'Terminator' to electronic music, but kept the highlights of her former, highly successful routine - and is happy about her excellent performance.
With hoop Svetlana Rudalova did not manage to continue her good shape of the routine with ball - with several big mistakes she will not play a role in this decision.
Inna Shukova convinced with a highly spirited and stylish hoop performance - technically brilliant and with more charisma than usually.

Ball:
Tamara Yerofeeva appeared a slightly retaining so that the elegant performing Svetlana Rudalova was able to draw the same level with her.
Lisa Ingildeeva with her well worth seeing , very well and with likeable charisma performed routine, completely in soft violet, until the very end: She could not catch the last throw. Really sad.
Inna Shukova, who has always a chance for a medal with ball, seemed insecure and even lost the apparatus. However, she still gets in the lead, since her routine is interlarded with difficulties.
One of the favourites with ball is Zarina Gizikova who performed a very beautiful choreography with oriental esprit; she did not perform flawlessly, though. Still she receives a top score of 27,850 and gets in the lead.
A routine with a red ball like a perfect dream: Anna Bessonova. Entirely elegant, completely relaxed - she matches up with Zarina Gizikova. The reason why the Russian received such a high score despite her loss of the ball is however rather difficult to reconstruct.

Senior groups:
The eagerly expected German Senior Group in starting position 5: Germany demonstrated an excellent choreography - such an resourceful images conjured with orange-red ribbons (one gymnast gets artificially wrapped by her companions, another gymnast leaps through a square of ribbons).
Otherwise this rotation again has been ted by the Russian group of which it looks like that they currently can’t be catched up by any others. But even they haven’t managed to go through their routine without mistakes. This, by the way, hasn’t been managed by any group at all today. The ribbon – which is very well liked by the audience as the most typical RG-apparatus – is said to be the most difficult apparatus for the gymnasts. And so drops of the apparatus, entanglements and knots – which are most highly feared by the gymnasts – could be seen quite a couple of times. – However, the impression of a tremendously high sportive level has not been damaged by those mistakes. Again choreographic masterpieces could be seen (Italy!) and the audience has been really thrilled. – Everyone is looking forward to see those groups again tomorrow.

Junior groups:
Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, France qualified for the final of the Junior Groups. With typical Spanish temperament, accompanied with flutes and characteristic clapping the five Spanish gymnasts won the second rotation of the junior groups competition (yesterday 8th rank). With an almost perfect performance – just right before the end one hoop rolled away - the s in black-pink won the hearts of the audience.
The second place was achieved by the s from Switzerland in their snakelike leotards. Followed by the playful Ukrainians and the s from France, who conjured a colourful goings to oriental tones on the mats.
