On Saturday, March 24th the first women's final (vault) in the "Lausitz Arena" in Cottbus was won by the 31-years old Oksana Chusovitina.
The former Uzbek is now a resident of Cologne, starting for Germany.

Oksana Chusovitina --- went full of energy into the difficult HS – layout fwd. 1/1 turn and needed a large step forward to secure the landing. Then followed Tsukahara 1 ½ twists, executed with a very good layout position, small hop to the side on the landing. And her two very difficult vaults brought her once again a victory on this apparatus!
The audience was thrilled by the Jurchenko 2/1 twists by Jade Barbosa - perfect! Her RO 1/2 turn - somersault fwd. piked was similarly perfect and she won the silver medal!

Olga Shcherbatykh --- started into this final with a good routine including a piked Jaeger and a double somersault fwd. dismount (small step to secure the landing).
Elsa Garcia thrilled the audience with her technically very well presented routine which she showed full of energy today! (straddled Stalder 1/1 turn on the lower bar, piked Jaeger, straddled Tkatchev, giant 1/1 turn, Pak ½ turn to lower bar, 1/1 turn – straddled Stalder, dismount double somersault fwd. tucked).
The Czech Republic presents itself as a very good uneven bars - nation at the moment! While she still had problems with a few elements during warm-up, now in the competition, Kristyna Palesova did very well in her routine which included 1 ½ turn on the higher bar, a high straddled Tkatchev and a double somersault fwd. tucked dismount.
Florica Leonida competed solidly and without major errors but with quite a few slight technical insecurities in her routine which included 1 ½ turn on the higher bar, a high straddled Tkatchev and a tucked full-in dismount.

... and on Sunday:
FINAL: BEAM
Irina Krasnyanska:
- she had to briefly secure the dismount with her hands and had 3 small wobbles during the routine before. But otherwise it was a great and technically very well presented routine! With 15.250 she sets a high mark already at the beginning of this final. She presented today: jump to clear straddle support to handstand in split position 1/1 turn – directly to clear pike support, RO – layout bwd, leap, jump to somersault fwd. tucked, ring jump, 1/1 spin with leg in horizontal, front aerial – sidewards somersault, leap series, double somersault bwd. piked dismount
Aluissa Lacusteanu:
The execution of her elements not as perfect as seen before at Irina Krasnyanska but she managed to get through her routine incl. FF- FF – layout bwd., Gainer-FF  – FF and FF – FF –double somersault bwd. tucked dismount well.
Fan Ye:
- a great routine!! Only one step to secure the landing of her dismount, otherwise perfect! - jumps on the beam, somersault fwd. tucked, sheep jump, ring jump, Rufolva (FF 1/1 turn to straddle sit), 1/1 spin with leg hold by the hand in 180º split position (perfectly executed today!), front aerial – somersault bwd. tucked, FF to straddle sit, somersault sidewards, ring jump – wolf jump, free cartwheel, dismount 2 1/2 twists.
Katja Abel:
- she continues with her succesful performances at this year’s Cottbus tournament! A wobble at her spin 1/1 turn with leg in horizontal, otherwise a good routine including FF – bwd. aerial, somersault bwd. tucked, leap 1/1 turn, leap – wolf jump, dismount somersault bwd. tucked with a stuck landing!
FINAL: FLOOR
Alina Kozich:
- very interesting choreography to a modern version of orientalic music, also the difficulties went well! - HS –double somersault fwd. tucked, HS – layout fwd. 2/1 twists – layout fwd., ring jump – leap 1/1 turn, 2/1 spin with leg in horizontal, RO 2 ½ twists – layout fwd. 1/1 turn (today however not completely in a layout position), RO – double twist, 2 ½ twists in the end.
Adela Sajn:
- until shortly before the end of her routine everything went well (including double somersault bwd. piked, RO – 1 ½ twists – layout fwd.), then unfortunately a major wobble on the difficult 3/1 spin in the end…
Jade Barbosa:
- here she had more luck than on beam! A unique choreography, today pefectly presented! Her elements include: tucked double arabian, 2 1/1 twists – somersault fwd. tucked and in the end a perfectly stuck double somersault bwd. piked.
Katja Abel:
- she showed a good routine including a double somersault bwd. piked, 2 ½ twists – somersault fwd. piked ½ turn and in the end a 2/1 twist with a stuck landing.
Olga Shcherbatykh:
- her music, a funny and modern version of Ukrainian folk music, was well liked by the audience. Also the dififculties went well - piked full-in, HS – double somersault fwd. tucked (small step to secure the landing), 2/1 spin with leg in horizontal, 2 ½ twists – layout fwd., cat leat 1/1 turn – leap 1/1 turn, double somersault bwd. piked – that was the lead at that point of time!
Elsa Garcia:
- small insecurities on her difficult 3/1 spin, otherwise a great routine! Very nice choreography which she presented very well - triple spin, double arabian tucked, tucked full-in, leap 1/1 turn, 2 ½ twists – layout fwd., double somersault bwd. piked. And she overtook Olga Shcherbatykh!
