Two World Cups and a very interesting Meet ...

The Russian city St. Petersburg will host the 6th trampoline World Cup of the topical circuit, which will be held coming Monday, August 27 to Tuesday, August 28.
The participants will come from 20 nations, and the programme includes Trampoline individual, synchronizing and also tumbling.

Great Britain vs. Canada vs. Germany (Youth) International

Two months before the World Championships in Quebec City (CAN), which will also serve as Olympic Qualifications for Beijing 2008, two of the strongest Trampoline nations in the world, Great Britain and Canada, will meet in Sheffield for their vitally important last rehearsal.
Add to this Double Mini Trampoline and Tumbling competitions for men and women, seniors and youth, and Germany joining the party for the Youth contests;
all ingredients for a truly exiting event come to place!

The stars of the Canadian Team include double Olympic medallist Karen Cockburn (Bronze in Sydney’00, Silver in Athens’04); Rosie McLennan, who, together with Karen is a current World Cup holder in Synchronised trampoline and the new World record holder for Highest Difficulty (17.50 рts) Jason Burnett . With these, and all the other members of the Canadian Team, Britain’s best competitors will encounter a really formidable challenge.
The British Women’s Team in Sheffield will be led by 7-times British Champion Claire Wright who has achieved a long list of World and European accolades over the last ten years.
Her Synchro partner the 2000 Olympian Jaime Moore, second in this year's Nationals will also be one to watch.
The younger Katherine Driscoll and Stacey Dan are the other two British senor women who will fight the tough Canadian challenge.

On the British men’s side, it remains to be seen how the newly crowned British champion James Higgins, will defend his new status, against the 2004 Olympic finalist Gary Smith who, in July, had to let the title go to James after a dramatic tie-break.
Steve Walsh and Tom Lewis are the other two, “new-generation” members of the British Men’s Team.

It also promises to be an exciting spectacle on the Tumbling track, with very strong chances for GB to win both the Team and the Individual victories.
Key names to remember in this event are the Wakefield, McLean sisters (Zoë and Zara) and Sarah Turner on the women’s side and Michael Barnes and Charlie Burrows, on the Men’s.

The 42nd traditional Youth match will be no less tight since Great Britain and Germany are “old adversaries”, but most importantly, because both the teams are expected to be in excellent form as they prepare for the World Age Group Competitions, being also held in Quebec, the week following the World championships.
“We are extremely happy that we were able to make this International happen!” said John Beeton, a member of the FIG TRA Technical Committee and National Technical Committee World Class liaison member. “The negotiations with the Canadian Federation, have been on-going for three years and we have finally managed to secure not only a top senior team to the UK, but also a very good Canadian youth squad in all three disciplines at the same time. Add to this Germany and the event seems even more exiting. Don’t miss it!”
