PREVIEW and PODIUM TRAINING on Wednesday
Wednesday the first podium training was held in the Pavillion 3 A of the "Riocentro Complex", the main area of these Pan Am Games.
First impressions:
While there were no fancy leotards, the participants looked beautiful and accomplished. Not having the European superstars here so it's possoble to have a different perspective on the status and the level of Rhythmic gymnastics in the Americas.
Almost every country has possibilities to finish well; either in group or individual exercise.
In a good athletic form are the two representatives of the USA, Lisa Wang and Julie Zetlin, but lso impressive was Alexandra Orlando of Canada.
In the group competition there are only five contenders:
Brazil, Cuba, Canada, Venezuela and Mexico.
With individual gymnasts will start Argentina (2), Chile (1), Ecuador (1) and USA (2).
