480 million viewers for Oksana
Germany's silver medalist on vault, Oksana Chusovitina, was bestowed with a great honour: She was invited to the most popular talk show of Chinese television. The show is regularly being watched by 480 million (!) viewers!
The life-story of the 33-year-old gymnast and her son Alisher, who suffered from leukemia, deeply moved the Chinese audience.
So Oksana probably isn't only the most successful German gymnast at these Olympic Games but also the one with the most audience- coverage...


Australia's women's gymnastics team still are an upcoming gymnastics nation under the former US- coach Peggy Liddick:
The girls improved from the eighth place in Athens to the fifth place now in Beijing.

Their national champion Daria JOURA - on the picture with her father who met her in the audience ranks after the competition - did especially well on uneven bars.

However, this time they haven't reach a qualification to any of the apparatus finals. The first reserve for the beam final is Shona Morgan ...
