Farewell ceremony for the women's gymnastics team

The German Women's Gymnastics Team for the Olympic Games, who are leaving on Friday 25 July 2008 in order to acclimatise at a training camp in Kamo-City (Japan), have now completed their "direct preparation" for competition in the Olympics at the German National Training Centre at Bergisch Gladbach.
Before the gymnasts were allowed to return to their clubs for a few days of home training, the Technical Rubber Products section of the company LANXESS AG in Leverkusen took advantage of the proximity of the National Training Centre to say a personal thank-you to the gymnasts.
What is more, the Business Unit Technical Rubber Products (BU TRP) of the LANXESS Group has extended its cooperation agreement with the Deutscher Turner-Bund for a further two years, until 31 December 2010. ...

A Strong Partner in the Olympic Alliance
Technical Rubber Products of the LANXESS Group - known, for example, for its product Levapren® - is sponsoring the outfit of the National Women's Gymnastics Team and is therefore an "Official Sponsor of the DTB".
Marketing Managers Jürgen Gunther and Dr. Harry Zumaqué as well as DTB Vice-President Rosemarie Napp and RTB President Hans-Jürgen Zacharias bid farewell to the team, which qualified for the Games by achieving tenth place in the World Championships in Stuttgart .
Since then the team has consistently demonstrated its top-class form, with the victory of Oksana Chusovitina (Cologne) in the European Championships being a particularly outstanding achievement. The team's excellent performance has motivated Technical Rubber Products to extend its sponsorship until 31 December 2010.

For the National Women's Team the continuation of the cooperation agreement is very important for ensuring their continued successful development," says DTB President Rainer Brechtken.

As a token of thanks for the invitation the gymnasts presented the Lanxess representatives as well as the Head of the Rhineland OSP, Michael Scharf and Susanne Strothmann of the North-Rhine-Westphalia Sports Foundation with an autographed team photo.
Further partnerships exist between Technical Rubber Products and the Rheinischer Turnerbund as well as the Cologne-based European Champion and exceptional phenomenon of the modern gymnastics era, Oksana TSCUSSOWITINA.

For the Leverkusen-based partner Technical Rubber Products of the LANXESS Group
it was the long-term quality of the German gymnasts, evidenced in particular by their attainment of tenth position in the World Championships in Stuttgart which enabled them to qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing, as well as Tschussowitina's winning of the title of European Vault Champion, which led to this new sponsorship agreement.
