Second to last World Cup before Olympic events

To the very first time the Gymnastics Federation of Kazakhstan hosted a F.I.G. Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup event.
Host was the city of Astana and gymnasts from 17 countries followed the invitation of the hosts, toward the front of the Russian top Gymnasts.

So all-around winner Evgenia KANAEVA, who won also the finals with hoop and clubs, and her teammate Vera Sessina, winner of the rope and ribbon final, dominated the two competition days.

For the pleasure of the visitors and the host the local hero Aliya YUSSUPOVA came on second place in all-around and she won four bronze medals in all the final world cup events, just behind the two Russian top gymnasts Kanaeva and Sessina ...
