Good Luck Invitational 2007: Chinese and Ukrainian winners at Trampoline Pre-Olympics

At last the reigning world champion YE, Shuai from China grabbed the gold medal of the men's trampoline final decision at the last of three final days, together with artistic gymnastics.
The worlds bronze medallist Yashuhiro UEYAMA won the silver and the Russian Dmitri USHAKOV the bronze medal.

The respected veteran and double Olympian Olena MOVCHAN from the Ukraine won the Gold medal in the Women’s Individual Trampoline in a nerve-breaking final on Sunday evening.
The silver medal went to the 2007 World Silver medallist of the recent Championships in Quebec, Rosannagh MacLennan, and the bronze medal to HE Wenna (CHN).

Ups and Downs in the Women's final event
While the women's qualifications went on smoothly with several top gymnasts advancing to the final without a hitch, the ups and downs in tonight's final were quite beyond all expectations.
>> Olena Movchan turned out to be a 'dark horse' from Ukraine, who outperformed all to grab the title with a score of 37.50pts.
>> Canadian Rosannagh Maclennan, runner-up at this year's World Championships, followed suit with 36.80, reached by the highest difficulty (14.0), while
>> China's He Wenna scored 36.60 to settle for third.

The 2000 Olympian Jaime Moore from Great Britain opened the Final with a score of 34.10pts, followed by the 2004 Olympic Champion Anna Dogonadze (GER) who managed to stay in balance in spite of some hesitance in the final part of her routine, 36.30.
>> The Chinese top favorite Huang Shanshan, bronze medalist at the recent worlds in Quebec, fixture and a hot favorite for the gold, placed as far as seventh with 26.50 for a blunder in her last part.

The fourth to sixth places went to the 2004 Olympic champion from Germany, Anna Dogonadze (36.30),
>>The other three finalists, Natalia Chernova of Russia (34.70) and Jaime Moore of Great Britain (34.10). Anna Savkina of Uzbekistan was the last with 11.10 after making a big mistake in the final and broke their routines at different stages.

Olena Movchan was in fact, the only one to stay within the box from the beginning until the end of her final routine and to keep her multiple saltos and twists in excellent shape.

The Pre-Olympic Men's Final
In the men's final of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Trampoline Gymnastics International Invitational Tournament at the National Indoor Stadium this evening, the reigning world champion of Quebec, Ye Shuai of China, grabbed the gold medal with 40.40.
With some veterans ousted from the qualification round including Chinese Dong Dong, Ye Shuai entered the final at the ninth place and posed an easy win on a dazzling exercise valued at 16.1.

Japanese Ueyama Yasuhiro, bronze medalist of this year's World Championships, finished 40.10 based on a 15.5 exercise to place second.
Russia's Dmitry Ushakov settled for bronze with 39.70.

Italian Flavio Cannone, top finisher of the qualification, ranked fourth with 39.10 while Canadian Jason Burnett placed fifth at 39.00.The sixth to the eighth went to Peter Jensen of Denmark, Mikalai Kazak of Belarus and Henrik Stehlik of Germany respectively.
