The Luxembourg Gymnastics Federation organises not only the national Championships coming weekend, but also the '4th International FLGym OPEN'.
Marinka van APPELDOORN won the women's all-around and Conny D?TAILLE is the old and new Champion of Luxembourg:
In men's category won Markus SETZ (SUI) and national Champion is Urs WIRTH. Sascha Palgen starts on pommel horse, only...
Next year (2003, May 24-25) this event may be an interesting highlight of the European calendar and a good test...

The German juniors team beats the Italian and the Spain boys in a tri-meet in Bad Wipfen/Germany (near Heilbronn):
208,05 : 205,05 : 200,40.
The best gymnast in all-around was the Italian Luca Forte (52,80), second was the German Rene Piephard (52,35) - bronze medallist of European Champs in Patras.
On third came Ivan San Miguel from Spain with a score of 51,65 points

Yesterday the new German national coach Andreas Hirsch nominated the German gymnasts for the coming world championships in Debrecen (Nov 20-24), but he was not carefree in the training camp Kienbaum...
>> To the first time Prof Peter Brueggemann will lead a German women's team to a world championship, because the German national coach Dr. Petra Theiss became a mother (Congratulations, also to father Mauno Nissinen!).
Last decissions will be clear after Trophy Massilia next weekend...

It was not a surprise, that the guests from Russia won the dual meet against hos Great Britain (146,600 : 139,375) in the Park Road Gym Centre of Liverpool. Also the triumph of the three all-around best gymnast Anna Pavlowa (37,050), Natalia Ziganshina and Svetlana Khorkina is o.k., but that the Britsh Bronze medallist of the European Champs on uneven bars beat the European Champion Svetlana Khorkina - it's a little sensation and a big success for British gymnastics, too......

Friendly Meet Great Britain - China
LIVERPOOL'S world-class gymnast Beth Tweddle gave yet another magnificent performance for her country to inspire victory over mighty China at the weekend.
She not only helped Britain win the team championship by 0.700 points on Saturday, but picked up three golds in the individual events yesterday, one of them shared with Olympic finalist Fan Ye, who tied with her on the floor.....
