* f i g - -: Following an unprecedented interruption of nearly six months due to COVID-19, Gymnastics competition is set to resume with the FIG World Challenge Cup Series in Artistic Gymnastics 2-4 October in Szombathely (HUN). More than 80 gymnasts representing 18 nations spanning the European continent have enthusiastically responded to the call for registrations for the event in Hungary’s oldest city, a staple on the international calendar since its inception in 2008.

Today Hans PFANN from Bavaria in Germany celebrates his 100th birthday as the oldest German olympian!
Hans Pfann represented the team of Western Germany (FRG) at two editions of the Olympics: 1952 in Helsinki and 1956 in Melbourne, and came up just short of a medal, in fourth and fifth place respectively, in the team all-around both times. Individually, Hans Pfann's best performance was in the still rings at the 1952 edition, where he placed 18th.
