John Atkinson was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Loughborough University for both outstanding services to the University and British Sport.
The Vice-Chancellor of Loughborough University, Prof. David Wallace CBE, DI, FRS, FR Eng., has addressed the invitation on behalf of the Authorities of the University. The congregation will take place later in 2004.

With great sadness the Austrian Gymnastics Federation OEFT pronounced, that its President, Director Magister Franz Fetti passed away, suddenly and totaly surprising...!

Yesterday, Sunday, January the11th, the 57 years old Franz Fetti deceased by a cardiac infarction, while he took a walk in his hometown Korneuburg, where he worked as a Dirctor of a big Austrian School Center.....
With great sadness, also the big international gymnastics family noticed this sorrowful loss!
