INTERNATIONAL GYMNAST reported, that U.S. champion Tasha Schwikert, who underwent surgery in December, performed on four events this past weekend at the Vegas Cup.
Schwikert, a 2000 U.S. Olympian and the 2001 and 2002 national champion, missed last year's World Championships due to a lingering leg injury. The American Cup champion of 2002 plans to defend her title this year on March 1st this year.
Brett McClure ascended the top of the podium last Friday at the Men's Winter Cup Challenge, held at the Las Vegas Sports Center in Las Vegas/Nev. His score of 54.950 points in the first session held up through the second session of competitors, with Jason Gatson taking top honors in the second session and second place overall with 54.450 points.
Last weekend took place the traditional 20th anniversary of 'Day of Artistic Gymnastics' in the German center Niederwoerresbach.
