First Japanese national Olympic Trials in Tokyo

The 19-year-old Koehei UCHIMURA beats the expierenced members of the Japanese golden Olympic team at the first national Olympic trials with a score of 182.500 points after the second day in Tokyo.

Uchimura made his first international events in Europe last year and was finalist of the world cup event in Paris...

On women's side, the 22-year-old Miki UEMURA from the Japanese WOLRDS- team, which ranked 12th in Stuttgart, won the all-around with 116,900 points ...

Everything was possible in the competition on vault on the second day of the men's finals of the FIG World Cup tournament in the Lausitz-Arena in Cottbus. The defending World Champion on vault s Leszek Blanik (POL) had retreated because of an injury. Hence the gymnast with the most difficult programm came in first  - Oleksandr Yakubovskyi from the Ukraine...

2008 WORLD CUP No. 2: Cottbus Tournament- GYMmedia EVENT SERVICE -

WORLD CUP, Cottbus: Women s Qualification rounds ...

WOMEN's World Cup Qualification Rounds

In the Lausitz-Arena in Cottbus (Germany), the qualifications of the FIG World Cup tournament closed successfully. The Chinese won twice - HE, Kexin   on uneven bars and LI, Shanshan on balance beam, European Champion in vault Oksana Chusovitina (Germany) came in first on vault and Sandra Izbasa from Romania was best on floor. 
57 gymnasts representing 24 different nations entered the competition.
