The 2007 All-around world champion Shawn Johnson (West Des Moines, Iowa/Chow’s Gymnastics) successfully defended her U.S. all-around and floor exercise titles at the 2008 USA National Visa Championships at Agganis Arena at Boston University.

At the traditional  33 anniversary of the "Memorial Joaquim Blume 2008" in Vilanova ila Geltrù , Spain the Chinese gymnasts won four of the six men's finals:
ZHENG, Hongtao dominated on pommel horse in front of  the European Champion Berki (HUN), YAN, Mingyong on rings, followed by Plushkin (RUS), FENG, Zhe on parallel bars beat Piasecki (SVK); European champion Petkovsek came on fifth place, only) and GUO, Weiyang won against the European high bar specialists Pegan (SLO)...

David SENDER of Arlington Heights, Ill., won the men’s all-around title at the 2008 Visa Championships at Reliant Park in Houston.
