The US gymnastics magazine "International Gymnast" reports, that
the final remaining berths for the 2008 Olympic Games have been awarded to a female from Vietnam and a male from Yemen:
Vietnam's Thuong Di Thi Ngan (19) and Yemen's Nashwan Al-Hazari are the reported recipients of the Wild Card berths selected by a tripartite commission.

The German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) made a request for the 2011 European Championships of Artistic Gymnastics, men and women.

The US artistic gymnastics women team won a friendly meet in Italy versus the host, followed by Spain and Poland.
The reigning 2007 all-around champion Shawn JOHNSON (USA) was the best in all-around (61,700) and beat the 2006 world champion, Vanessa FERRARI (60,100). On third came Samantha PESZEK (59,050) from USA.

In the Sports Center Waidmannsdorf  in Klagenfurt, Austria, a Friendly meet of artistic gymnastics took place in preparation of the upcoming European Championships in France, next month:
The Czech national squad won by a clear margin with  a score of 163,250 and a difference of nearly 6.5 points in front of Austria, followed by Sweden and Slovenia.
The Slovenian junior team was the best in the junior competition before  Sweden  and the Czech Republic....

The former Uzbek and now German citizen Oksana CHUSOVITINA was the only non-Chinese winner of the first world cup event of the Olympic year, which was held for the first time in Doha, Qatar.
