Today the gymnastics world mourns the untimely passing of the popular gymnastics photographer Patrick TOWER of USA.
Patrick Tower covered many major Olympic, FIG and UEG championship events around the world spanning from 1998 Goodwill Games New York to his most recent work at the World Championships 2010 Rotterdam.
In addition Patrick was an accredited EP photographer at the 1999 Rhythmic World Championships at Osaka,  2001 at Madrid and 2003 at Budapest, also the 2002 Rhythmic European...

CAN-Fed ---: In the senior competition at the 2011 Koop Cup in Toronto (CAN)  Veronica Alejandra Navarro Blizzard of Mexico took the all around gold. 
Japanese gymnasts won three of the four event finals with Ayumi Nakazawa placing first in the ribbon and club events and Kana Shimizu taking the individual ball title.
Viktoria Bogdanova of Estonia won the hoop final.
Russian Olympic champion Evgeniya Kanaeva performed at Friday’s Gala but did not compete for the medals

Top qualifier and member of the Gold medal winning Team of Kazakhstan, Anna Alyabyeva, took the Rhythmic Gymnastics Individual All-around title at the 16th Asian Games Friday in Guangzhou (CHN).

A talented gymnast, the 17 year old prevailed over a field of 18 finalists, scoring a total of 111.450 points, with Hoop being her best apparatus (28.650).
Her final score in Guangzhou would have been enough to win her the Bronze medal at the World...

From November 19 to 21 the "All Japan Championships of Rhythmic Gymnastics 2010"  were held in Tokyo.

No holidays for the international rhythmic gymnasts this year!?

Somebody could think so, considering the fully packed rhythmic calender, but there is still some space for some fun, as we could see at this year's "Euskalgym".

The Basque Federation of Gymnastics held their traditional gala of gymnastics presenting the best rhythmic gymnasts from nowadays - but also from the past - together with national rhythmic groups and the best international Spanish aerobic gymnasts.
As always in Spain, rhythmic gymnastics moves the masses and the “La Casilla”...
