The "All Japanese Club Championships 2007" were held in the city of Chiba.
All together 642 gymnasts represented 214 different national clubs of rhythmic gymnastics.
This competition was also the qualification for the world wide and wellknown AEON CUP, the inofficial "world championships" of rhythmic gymnastics clubs.
The three best teams are qualified - the same three like last year:
First the AEON Club, followed by  Hikosen...

In the rhythmic gymnastics group discipline also the Olympic Champion of 2004 Athens, the group of Russia, proved its top level and won both group disciplines at this world cup in Tel Aviv today, the exercise with ropes and also the combination hoops/clubs.

In the absence of Bulgaria - third at the last Olympics - the groups of Belarus, Italy and Israel won the medals this weekend.

A special perspective on the RG status in America
After the events of artistic gymnastics now the second Olympic gymnastics discipline, Rhythmic Gymnastics, will follow in the program of the 15th Pan American Games 2007 in Rio de Janeiro. Altogether 42 gymnasts are representing 9 different countries; five of them will also start in the group competition.

Dual Dutch national champion Anna POBOKOVA will return next season to the international competition circuit.
The 19 year old gymnast is living now in Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands.
In 1999 she immigrated together with her mother  and started a new career in 2002...

Due to a severe back injury and a break from April 2005 to April 2006 and an almost fatal traffic accident in January 2007, she could not take part for a long time...
