Rhythmic Gymnastics

Since 1963 (Budapest) the F.I.G. has organized World Championships for the world's best gymnasts. Now the 28th Worlds of Rhythmic Gymnastics  fom September 16 to 23 took place in Patras, Greece.
After the artistic gymnastics Worlds, these rhythmic gymnastics competitions are also be very important - because they are the only Olympic qualification event for next year's Olympic Games in Beijing, China, for individual gymnasts and groups (all-around, only). 
Once again Russia demonstrated an overwhelming success again!

Once again the dominant Russian top trio  Vera Sessina (73,825) , Alina Kabaeva (73,700 ) and Olga Kapranova (72,475) leads also at the Grand Prix's all-around decision of the 8th event of the this year's serie in Deventer, Netherlands, this weekend.
At the final day Vera SESSINA won all the four apparatus finals, a ttal triumph in Deventer ...!
After the two exercises of group all-around competion also the Russian group is on...

From August 24 to 26, the 9th SLOVENIAN RHYTHMIC CHALLENGE 2007 took place as a World Cup event of FIG.
Traditional host was the Rhythmic Gymnastics Club Siska in Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital.

The Russian world champion Olga KAPRANOVA won the all-around competition in front of her teammates Vera SESSINA and Eugenia KANAEVA.
The Ukrainian Anna BESSONOVA - best of the Universiade in Bangkok one week before - came only in fourth place ...

After winning the all-around competition of the Rhythmic Gymnastics events of the XXIV. UNIVERSIADE 2007 in Bangkokat the Ukrainian top gymnast Anna BESSSONOVA won all the apparatus finals and reached the total triumph.
The Russians  Olga Kapranova and Vera Sessina  won the rest of the medals, together with the bronze medallists Natalia GODUNKO (UKR; rope), Inna ZHUKOVA (BLR; hoop) and Aliya YUSSUPOVA (KAZ; ribbon).

The all-around qualification of groups ends with leading Russian team in front of Ukraine and...

 ... also the Japanese AEON Cup Trials
The "All Japanese Club Championships 2007" were held in the city of Chiba.
All together 642 gymnasts represented 214 different national clubs of rhythmic gymnastics.
This competition was also the qualification for the world wide and wellknown AEON CUP, the inofficial "world championships" of rhythmic gymnastics clubs.
The three best teams are qualified - the same three like last year:
First the AEON Club, followed by  Hikosen...
