<< Olympic and World Champion Evgenia Kanaeva won the all-around at the first stage of the first 2011 Grand Prix event of Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup "Gazprom", which took place in Moscow's Universal Sports Hall of Friendship. Kanaeva scored a total 114.55 points and won the tournament. The second and third places were taken by Russians Daria Kondakova (111.45) and Yana Lukonina (109.50). At last Kanaeva won also all the four apparatus finals.

It was not aneasy task for the Grand Prix Committee of the European Circuit to built the event calendar for the 2011 serie, because the Pre-Olympic year is full of top competitions already:
Continental and world championships, the Summer Universiade, the AEON Cup but also altogether 10 (!!) world cups between January to September...!

To the third time the former German world class gymnast Edita Schauler (-Enev) organized the "INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR CUP 2011 in her hometown Bochum (-Wattenscheid), and welcomed a big part of European talents in youth and junior categories.
Best of them was the Russian Elisabeta SOROKOVAYA, who won the junior category in all-around and the finals with hope and clubs. Winner with the ribbon was the Italian Giulia DI LUCA (< photo, left).

To the third time will held the "International Interconti Juniors Cup", from February 19 - 20 in the Rundsporthalle at the Stadionring in Bochum (Germany), .
The host will be one of the leading German club TV Wattenscheid 01 RSG e.V. .

In the first World Cup at Montreal for 2011, the senior All-Around winners were Liubov Charkashyna (BLR), in front of Aliaksandra Narkevich (BLR)  and newcomer Margarita Mamun (RUS). Notable were the gymnasts not here.
Evgeniya Kanaeva of Russia performed gala just the week before in Toronto at Koop Cup along with Anna Bessonova of Ukraine. But neither star nor team Ukraine stayed for this weekend's first World Cup of the season in rhythmic gymnastics....
