The 2003 Dutch Nationals took place this weekend in Nijmegen - without the title holder from 2002 Verona van de Leur.
In her hometown Nijmegen Suzanne Harmes advanced to the most successful gymnast:
She won not only the all-around title with a score of 36,888, but also the gold medals at three apparatusses.
Only the title on uneven bars was won by Laura van Leeuwen from Zoetemeer...

Last weekend the Romanian national team of women's artistic gymnastics won the triple meet in Madrid (Spain) with a clear difference of more than 4,5 points, but Brasilia on third place had only a backward to the Spanish host from 1,165 points...!
Best in individual all around was the Romanian Oana Ban (37,150), best Spanisch gymnast was the floor world champion Elena Gomez and best Brasilian Daniele Hypolito came on fifth place...

In Trnava, Slovakia took place the 2003 International Slovakian Championships of artistic gymnastics.
Winner in all around men's category was Filip Ude from Croatia with a score of 53,20. The best Slovakian Samuel Piasecky (53,15) came on second place.
In women's category the winner came from Romania: Lorena Stancu (33,708). Lia Parolari from Slovakia was the best gymnast of the host (6th place) and the new Slovakian title holder.

The Dutch 'PEGASES' company Janssen–Fritsen announced, that the Organising Committee of the XIV Pan American Games 2003 in Santo Domingo, has made the same decision as the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Organising Committee and has chosen Janssen Fritsen Gymnastic Equipment for their prestigeous competition

On Saturday five gymnasts from Berlin - among of them the high bar Olympic champion of Atlanta, Andreas Wecker and the former German all-around master Peter Nikiferow celebrated a noisy handstand on a special steel construction on the biggest aldest German castle from the 12th century.
The German company PANHOLZ from Sulzfeld, near Heilbronn built this construction, to carry a roof for saving the 6 meters thick wall.
