Five gymnastics legends, including China's LI Xiaopeng, will be honored at the 23rd annual International Gymnastics Hall of Fame (IGHOF) ceremony on May 18, 2019, at the Petroleum Club in Oklahoma City. Li is a 5-time Olympic medalist and 11-time World Championship medalist. One of China's greatest gymnasts, the 38-year-old holds four Olympic gold medals and 16 world titles.
The other three inductees are Shawn Johnson of the United States, Russia's Maria Filatova, and Ivan Ivankov of Belarus.

The 2019 Chinese National Championships of Artistic Gymnastics took place from May 09 t0 13 in Zhaoqing, only some days before the next FIG Challenge Cup.

On Monday, April 29, USA Gymnastics (USAG) hired Edward NYMAN as its director of sports medicine and science, a newly created position. But even one day later, on Tuesday, the organization reneged on the hiring citing a “conflict of interest” and nothing else.
"Dr. Nyman's employment will not continue due to a conflict of interest, and we will immediately renew our search to identify a qualified individual to lead our sports medicine and research efforts," a USAG statement...
The British junior team of artistic gymnastics won the traditional U18 international tournament in Halle / Sa. (GER) with 310.550 points, just ahead of Switzerland (310.300). The German junior team took third place with 308,300 points and moved France's team (307,000) to fourth place.
