The Royal Spanish Federation of Gymnastics returned its verdict on the case of the Spanish gymnast Gervasio Deferr, who had tested positive for cannabis (- News from February, 19)
The athlete was given a three-month suspension to begin on January 7, 2003 for the charges against him at the 2002 national championships in Vitoria.

From 5th to 7th March, the traditional 'Tournament of Masters' - B World Cup Torunament - take place in Cottbus (GER). More than 170 athletes from 48 nations take part in this tournament.
Today, on the first world cup day the gigantically qualification rounds with more than 170 athletes took place in the 'Lausitz-Arena'.

The organizers of the World Cup '27th TOURNAMENT of Masters' in Cottbus, Germany are happy about the list of participants: 44 nations and more than 140 athletes - this will be a new record in the 30 years old history of this event.

US-Gymnastics pronounced, that the two-time Olympian Blaine Wilson (USA) and 2002 U.S. Junior National Champion Carly Patterson captured the all-around titles in front of 7,111 fans at the 2003 VISA American Cup on yesterday at George Mason University's Patriot Center.

American Cup
Five-time U.S. champion Blaine Wilson tore his left biceps muscle at the American Cup on Saturday, putting his hopes for the Athens Olympics in jeopardy.

Wilson was taken to the hospital for special surgery for further examination. No timetable for his recovery was given, but most athletes need at least six months.
